Structural Components of CNC Vertical Lathes

  1. Bed: As the basic component, it bears the other components and ensures the stability and rigidity of the machine tool.
  2. Spindle: The core component is responsible for the rotation of the workpiece. Its rotational speed and torque directly affect the machining efficiency and quality.
  3. Tool System: It encompasses the tool magazine and the tool changing device. It can automatically change tools according to processing requirements, enhancing processing flexibility.
  4. Control System: Similar to the “brain” of the machine tool, it is responsible for receiving and processing the machining program and controlling the movement of each component.
  5. Feed System: It is responsible for controlling the feed speed and direction of the cutting tool to ensure the smooth progress of the machining process.

Working Principle

  1. Programming: Operators write machining programs using CAD/CAM software based on the machining requirements of the workpiece.
  2. Data Transmission: Transmit the written program to the CNC system through a data cable.
  3. Processing Preparation: The operator fixes the workpiece on the spindle and sets up the cutting tool and other parameters.
  4. Automatic Machining: The CNC system automatically controls the movement of the cutting tool according to the program instructions to complete the machining of the workpiece.
  5. Monitoring and Adjustment: During the machining process, the CNC system monitors the machining status in real - time and makes adjustments when necessary to ensure the machining quality.
